Sourcing hierarchy

Claims are sourced in this order: (1) government sources — Allen County, the City of Fort Wayne, the State of Indiana, and federal agencies such as the CPSC, NWS/NOAA, NPS, and DOE; (2) the regulated utility (NIPSCO) for gas-safety procedure; (3) recognized industry and credentialing bodies — CSIA, the Brick Industry Association, and the NAIC; (4) dated national cost guides (Angi, HomeGuide), used only for cost orientation and always with their publication dates. Every source in use is listed in the source directory.

Verification dates

Factual claims carry the date they were checked. A verification date changes only when the underlying claim is actually rechecked — never automatically. If an exact official URL cannot be confirmed, the source is named in plain text instead of linked.

What this site refuses to publish

• Local prices or city-specific average-cost figures it cannot evidence.

• Remote diagnoses of any chimney, or clearance to keep using a questionable system.
• Fabricated reviews, invented credentials, or a local office or crew that does not exist.
• City pages for suburbs it cannot honestly support.

Corrections

If a factual statement is wrong or out of date, contact us with the page and disputed claim via the path on the about page. Verified errors are corrected on the page, and the verification date is updated.
